Home.

My little brother stayed with us in California for a couple weeks. It was fun having him, but it's really hard having to entertain a little kid all day!
We drove to Utah last Sunday and have enjoyed all of this down time and visiting with my family. Andy fits right in with my family. My little brothers love playing with him!
My sister is getting married in two days! Holy moly.
We went up into the mountains and ate tin-foil dinners and roasted marshmallows the other night. We always have really pretty sunsets here, so I couldn't resist taking a picture from the top of the mountain.

Yesterday we got passes to ride the cable cars/subway around all day. We stood on the outside of the cable car, it was kind of scary. Going up and down the steep hills of San Fran was a bit scary. We also went to Alcatraz. It was really neat. Sheldon loved the seals at pier 39 too. We visited the Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Manufactory, where we got to see the original chocolate manufacturing equipment. It was so delicious!

My little brother Sheldon and Andy's little brother Philip flew in to Oakland from SLC yesterday. It was Sheldon's first plane ride. My mom gave Sheldon a couple disposable cameras. He got a window seat and was so intrigued with being up in the air, that he used up twenty pictures just on the plane ride.

I went to clock-out from work and little Shelly was sitting there waiting for me. We both were so excited to see each other! We drove straight to Santa Cruz to the West Coast’s only major seaside amusement park. It was a bit chilly, but fun. It was so funny watching Sheldon's face while he was on the rides. I hated the ferris wheel. I never knew I did, but maybe it was just the fact of Andy rocking it back and forth that made me not like it? My favorite ride was the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster. It's the 5th oldest roller coaster in the U.S.

Today we went to the beach. Philip and Andy rented boogie boards while Sheldon and I watched. Sheldon said that he had been watching Shark Week and was really scared of getting in the water. (He thinks he looks like a seal). He put his feet in, but that was all. We drove to San Fran, where Andy took Philip on a tour on bike while Shel and I went to the mall. We stopped by Grey Whale Beach on the way home and now Andy's grilling steak for the boys. It's been really nice having family here. We can't wait for Andy's parents to come for a week in September.
